Members Joey Lynn, (a.k.a. Chalestrie). I have been a practicing Wiccan since 1995 and studied a mix of Alexandrian, Gardnerian and Faerie traditions. In 1997 I was ordained as a first degree Gardnerian priestess, and I became a second degree priestess on Samhain 2005. On a whim, I decided to visit Red Oak Grove (a southern New Jersey druid grove) for their 1999 Samhain ritual; I decided to become a member of ROG in 2000. During my time with them, I was responsible for invoking the Goddess Rhiannon during rituals, and I developed a close relationship with Her. I have even channeled Her on a number of occasions. After being formally trained in Wicca and having three years of experience within Red Oak Grove, I finally felt ready to start my own group. On July 4, 2002, The Celtic Knot was formally created, and I have been the acting High Priestess since then. My pagan pursuits include Tarot reading, candle magic and collecting crystals. I live with my amazing husband Ron, our German Shepherd (Phoenix) and our kitty (Homer) in northern NJ. Ron, (a.k.a. Kybrynn). My wife introduced me to Wicca before we married in October 2000. I spent two years as a key member of Red Oak Grove until 2002. During those years, I developed a special relationship with Cernunnos, my patron deity. As a physics teacher and a martial artist, I found Wicca to be a good compliment to my scientific beliefs and my Eastern ideology. Mark, - Raised as a Protestant, I was never really comfortable with the guilt, sin and damnation of Christianity. My own research showed me that long before we worshipped the “Son”, we worshipped the Mother. It feels natural to me to base my beliefs around the cycles of the earth, the seasons, and the elements. I believe in the Goddess and truly believe she works in strange ways to give us what is best for us. I am a naturist and believe in spending as much time as possible in contact with the earth, sky, wind and water for it is these elements which provide us with our life and our spiritual energy. I believe in the circle of life, the wheel of time and reincarnation. I knew Joey and Ron for years before we began to discuss our shared beliefs and embarked on this journey. Please join us. Becky, Becky is Mark's wife. She's easy going, down to Earth and a great cook. We are very lucky to have her as a member of our group. Lola, (a.k.a. Lola - some names are Magick enough!). I was first introduced to Wicca 20 years ago in New York City. Although not a practicing Wiccan, and not exactly a card carrying Pagan, I have been a spiritualist for my entire life, and have studied Wiccan philosophies amongst the many others in my spiritual quest. There were always aspects of the Christian religion of my up-bringing that didn’t quite ring true, the majority of them being the man-made “controls” and the Do’s and Don’ts (mostly the Don’ts) that seemed a bit unrealistic, and unacceptable to my nature. Having a Native American heritage, I have a kinship with Pagans (so maybe I am a Pagan) that feels more true and rewarding to my soul than conventional faiths. After having experienced a few rituals with Red Oak Grove, and developing a devotion to Chalestrie and Kybrynn, I have been totally supportive of the new Celtic Knot, and have found it an honor to participate with the group. James, (a.k.a. Gray Wolf). I have been practicing The Art since I was first introduced to witchcraft in 1993. My interests have led me to study Wicca, Hawaiian shamanism, the Tarot, angelic lore, PectiWita, spirit guides, automatic writing, various forms of scrying, the writings of Edgar Cayce, Atlantean lore, Ley Consciousness, the Tao, the I Ching, Celtic/Irish/Scottish folklore, the works of Carlos Castaneda, and various styles of meditation. I live (with my black cat named Shadow) in New York City, am a tech-writer by day and a musician/poet/performing songwriter and sometime actor by night. Aldric, A student of life who tries to always be ready to change his understanding, he is hopelessly addicted to martial arts (isshinryu karate, iaido) and the game of go Amy, Amy considers herself incredibly lucky to have met Magus in third grade and been introduced to the Celtic Knot in 2004. As a full-time cubicle-dweller, clinical & forensic psychology student, budding writer, chronic city dweller and typically neurotic Gemini, she really needs the sanity, harmony, peace and plain old gestalt happiness made possible by the gatherings of the lovely Rhiannon and the Knot, whom Amy considers the perfect company in which to relate to our amazing, kooky world more organically and emotionally while putting into perspective the intellectual and fiscal demands of the rat race. Amy is joined at rituals by her totem animal, Turtle, a creature of the watery depths as well as dry land, whose inspiration is important in her transition from the hamster wheel of ‘working for The Man’ to the slow realization of a career with meaning to her and the community. In addition to enjoying the spiritual growth and support of the Celtic Knot, Amy is a devout daily practitioner of the One True Religion: chocolate. She also enjoys astrology, ancient art & architecture, travel, fine wines, cheap wines, open mic nights, an occasional visit to the gym, literature, garage rock and animal prints. |
